Sublimation printing is one of the best and highest quality printing methods used in the production of sports jerseys, T-shirts, as well as table flags, beach flags, banners, scarves or other fabrics. It can be used wherever polyester fibre is the base of textiles. The higher the polyester component content of the printed fabric, the more sublimation technology is suitable for printing. Sublimation can only be printed on a fabric that contains 100 % or at least 70 - 80 % polyester. Not every fabric is suitable for sublimation. In general, the lower the proportion of polyester in the fabric, the worse the print results.

The process of sublimation printing contains several important steps, such as: preparing print data | printing a sublimation paper theme | sublimation alone = transfer of sublimation colour from paper to polyester fabric fibre at a given pressure and temperature. Due to the high temperature, the colour (at 200°C = gaseous state) can enter the fibres of the printed fabric. When the temperature decreases, the state changes again (gas vs. solid) and the colour becomes part of the fabric.

Advantages:
- printed fabric retains all the properties it had before printing (breathability, skin feel, comfort),
- high wash resistance,
- brilliant colours, printable raster (photos, images) + vector (curves),
- wide range of colours: Pantone + CMYK,
- possibility of production from 1 pc.

Disadvantages:
- works only on polyester,
- underlying colour must be white - white polyester,
- not suitable for printing on coloured polyester (consultation required). In general, the possibility of a dark print (e.g. dark blue, black) on a light coloured base (e.g. light yellow, light green etc.)

Further information:
- washing up to 40°C,
- maximum size of printed themes for sublimation reprinting (printing on functional polyester T-shirts) is generally A3 (larger format after consultation) or printing on cut parts (max. width 150 cm) and subsequent clothing (such as sports jerseys),
- necessary graphic materials in the following formats: ai, eps, pdf, cdr, for raster: pdf, tiff.
